What if Da Vinci had been a Star Wars fan? Worth1000.com held a contest that challenged you to put Star Wars characters, vehicles, props, or creatures in a classic painting. As Worth1000.com stated:
I went to an art gallery the other day. The artworks were all right, I guess, but you know what they were missing? Wookiees. There wasn’t one Wookiee in sight. Also no Jedis, no Storm Troopers … in fact none of the artworks had any Star Wars elements at all!
In this contest we’re going to rectify the art world’s mistake by placing Star Wars character, items, vehicles and scenes into classic art works. Paintings, tapestries and sculptures are all allowed.
Hit list: the Mona Lisa, Munch’s ‘The Scream’ and any painting by Norman Rockwell. Use them and your entry will be disqualified.
As always, quality is a must. We’ll remove poor images no matter how much we like you. You’ll have 48 hours for this contest, so make your submissions count.
I must warn you, some of the entries are NSFW as they contain some of the original nudity that was popular in the Post Impressionism period of art.
They can’t aim, they can’t see very well, they can’t hide in anything but snow, and who knows what has to happen for them to go to the bathroom. They’re Stormtroopers. The “crime prevention” or “rent-a-cops” of the galaxy, they are as brain-dead as they are plastic. I love ‘em.
These are my top 3 videos from YouTube about Stormtroopers. There seems to be a constant flow of Stormtropper videos out there, so it was hard to narrow it down to 3.
CRAIG SAYS: I have met a few cops in my time who missed their calling as Stormtroopers
IAN ADDS: The “COPS” parity is genius. It’s witty and pays attention to detail. I really appreciate the creativity.
I can’t tell you the rabbit trail of links, forums, recommended videos, and loading screens I went through to stumble on this video, but I love it when people re-edit original material to re-tell the story. This is definitely “guy humor”, but it’s well done, so I felt compelled to share it.
IAN ADDS: With years of extensive training and a high metachlorian count, this could be you.
